The City of Pompano Beach Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department is proud to announce a brand new Farmer’s Market coming to the Skolnick Community Center weekly starting May 8. This international food Farmer’s Market will include local artisans and growers. Multi-cultural cuisines will be represented including: fruits, vegetables, BBQ, Indian, Greek, Venezuelan, soups, organics, street foods, local honeys & a whole lot more!

Our critically acclaimed Lyrics Lab program is both a show and a showcase. Sit back, be inspired, motivated and moved by some of the area’s best spoken word and musical artists. Or step into the spotlight and let your voice be heard. Live music accompanies all performances. Beginners encouraged. Lyrics Lab is an artistic community and all are welcome! Trying new things has been proven to make you more creative, and it’s good for your brain. So each Wednesday we offer a new way to nourish your soul & get creative at The Bailey Contemporary Arts during your lunch hour…and it’s FREE!

No two weeks are the same as each new workshop offers a different creative experience and encourages you to step out of the mundane and explore your potential. Each simple, hands-on project becomes an escape from the daily stresses of life and reminds you how beauty can be found in even the most simplest of projects.

Guests are invited to bring their lunch, or grab a bite to eat from Blooming Bean Coffee Roasters, located in our West Gallery.

To ensure that everyone has an equal opportunity to enjoy this program, seats will be available on a First-Come, First-Serve Basis, and Space Is Limited! However, even if our workshop reaches capacity, guests are able to explore the newest exhibits in our gallery, take the time to learn about upcoming programs, workshops, volunteer opportunities, and spend some time enjoying a coffee while unwinding in our West Gallery.

Yuletide on Atlantic 6:30pm | Atlantic Blvd

Yuletide Parade is back on Atlantic Boulevard! We are looking for parade participants! The parade theme is “A Candyland Holiday” and will begin at 6:30pm starting from Riverside Drive, heading west on Atlantic Boulevard and ending at McNab Park.

We are looking for people to participant with over the top eye dazzling floats, holiday performers and dancers and a variety of other amazing entertainment. Old Town Untapped 6:00pm - 9:00pm | Bailey Contemporary Arts, 41 NE 1st Street

Old Town Untapped is a monthly craft beer and arts festival hosted by the Pompano Beach CRA and features free samples of local beers crafted by breweries in Pompano Beach's emerging craft beer scene. In addition the streets of Old Town are lined with food trucks, artists, crafters and interactive art. Inside Bailey Contemporary Arts, guests can grab some locally roasted coffee at Blooming Bean Coffee Roasters and walk through the galleries rotating art exhibits each month.

Gratitude and Joy Photography Juried Exhibition Opening Reception 6:00pm - 9:00pm | Bailey Contemporary Arts, 41 NE 1st Street

This is a juried photography exhibition (Juried by Sharon Lee Hart Head of Photography and Assistant Professor of Art at Florida Atlantic University) of work received from Pompano and South Florida artists that will center on the theme of "joy". Work featured should be recent (with creation date no earlier than 2016). Call for Entries will be drafted and juror will be selected and confirmed within the next month.

The City of Pompano Beach Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department invites bring your lawn chairs, blankets and picnics and come enjoy a featured presentation under the stars at the great lawn on the first Friday of every month at the Great Lawn. This is a free, family – friendly event. Due to daylight savings time, the movie will begin at 7 pm.

PETER SALZER Actor/Writer PETER SALZER has created roles on stage and on screen and has appeared in many television commercials. He is currently starring in the sitcom "Greenblatt's". Peter uses his many character voices in commercials and has narrated many industrial programs. Fifteen years ago he parlayed a part as George Burns in a musical into a George Burns Tribute act which he has performed around the country. In 2001, Peter wrote the play "Together Again" which became the basis of this show when he teamed up with the talented Betsy Wickard who brings Gracie Allen to life.

Actress BETSY WICKARD has performed in theaters and casinos throughout the country. She was a dancer/ singer in The Branson Follies, The Palm Springs Follies, The Great American Follies, and Golden Girls USA. She appeared in the feature films Rocky V and Mannequin on the Move. She has appeared in numerous national commercials and print ads for major corporations. She is now living in Florida and performing on the Condo Circuit. She is delighted to be portraying Gracie Allen in "Together Again."

Many people remember when the December holidays were a time to gather around the piano to sing and hear carols. The Master Chorale is reviving this tradition with an intimate evening of carols and other holiday songs.
