Lunch with Art: Poetry Edition 12:15pm | Pompano Beach Cultural Center, 50 W Atlantic Blvd

Take a break from your day, bring your lunch and unleash your creativity. As you eat, enjoy a unique cultural experience that turns us all into poets. Each month, create, listen or watch different poems designed to spark the artist in you. Each workshop encourages you to step out of the mundane and explore your potential and escape from the daily stresses of life while remembering how beauty can be found in even the most simplest of words. Guests are invited to bring their lunch, and a friend and come create a memorable piece of art. Free Wi-Fi available and light refreshments will be available.

Old Town Untapped 6:00pm - 9:00pm | Bailey Contemporary Arts, 41 NE 1st Street

Old Town Untapped is a monthly craft beer and arts festival hosted by the Pompano Beach CRA and features free samples of local beers crafted by breweries in Pompano Beach's emerging craft beer scene. In addition the streets of Old Town are lined with food trucks, artists, crafters and interactive art. Inside Bailey Contemporary Arts, guests can grab some locally roasted coffee at Blooming Bean Coffee Roasters and walk through the galleries rotating art exhibits each month.

Life Drawing Studio 11:00am - 2:00pm | Bailey Contemporary Arts, 41 NE 1st Street

Life Drawing, also referred to as Figure Drawing, is the best and quickest way to improve your drawing skills and your visual perception. Life drawing trains your eye to catch things that photos do not show. Therefore learning to master figure drawing is more than bones and muscles, it is about the subtle differences and minor details such as weight-bearing and positioning that translates to all forms.

We are excited to be able to bring this opportunity to all artists through our new Life Drawing Studio at Bailey Contemporary Arts in the City of Pompano Beach.

During this 2-hour session, live models pose draped for short "gesture" as well as longer poses. This program is ideal for individuals interested in portrait painting, character design, illustration, animation, anatomical drawing, however ALL artists benefit from Life Drawing sessions.

Artists are invited to bring their own materials and supplies.

This activity doesn’t provide formal instruction; participants work at their own pace and in their preferred medium.

Space available for 6 participants per session, so register early!

Artists will learn how to use studio time to connect with others, share expertise, build community and find buyers for their work — all while making art. A 3-hour workshop lead by Dimitry Chamy, designer, artist and faculty mentor at FIU's Ratcli_e Art + Design Incubator.

VIDEO SKILLS FOR CREATIVES
With today's rapid advancement of technology, artists have access to a wide array of new tools to propel their professional careers. Creating video has become an integral part of captivating potential audiences and promoting art in the digital age. Video Skills for Creatives provides free workshops designed to lay the groundwork for artists to harness the power of video media and reach a wider audience.

PNC Arts Alive has pledged over $1 Million to area organizations since launching its initiative in Southeast Florida in 2016. To date PNC Arts Alive has supported 44 programs.

The Center for Working Families (CWF) provides a space to overcome hurdles that may be holding you back and help you move towards creating a step-by-step plan for attaining your long-term goals. Through the coaching process, clients will focus on financial education, asset building, job training, career advancement, public benefits screenings, and identifying personal goals for a successful financial future!

Attendance and participation in the orientation is mandatory for access into Center for Working Families. Center for Working Families (CWF) provides access to Urban League Employment Services, Public Benefits Screening, Asset Building Services and Financial Services.

Instructions:
Please plan to arrive at least 10 minutes prior to orientation as we will begin promptly.

Please be advised that although you may be registered, entrance into orientation will close 15 minutes after the start time and no one will be allowed to enter afterwards.
