Notice of Construction Commencement OLD POMPANO STREETSCAPES
February 2019 to December 2019
In January 2019, the City’s Contractor, Whiting-Turner, will begin the improvements of OLD POMPANO STREETSCAPES. The work includes installation and replacement of underground utilities (i.e., water, sewer, drainage, reclaim water, irrigation), sidewalks, curbing, asphalt, landscape, light fixtures, etc. for the City of Pompano Beach.

During construction, traffic will remain open with detour around phased work zones. The City and the Contractor will coordinate construction activities so that emergency services will remain intact. Access to business and residential property will be maintained for vehicles and pedestrians.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your cooperation during this project. Should any problems arise that require immediate attention, please contact the following project representatives:

Federal Gov Shutdown: Resident Resources The City of Pompano Beach is aware of the potential impacts that the partial Federal Government Shutdown could have on our residents. The City Commission has authorized the following Utility Billing Program:

While the partial federal government shutdown is in effect, the City of Pompano Beach will defer water, wastewater, reuse water, stormwater, and garbage fees to Federal employees who request it. In addition, water will not be disconnected during the shutdown for these residents. Individual customers will be provided a 60 day grace-period once the furlough ends in order to bring their deferred balance current.

To qualify, federal employees must live in the City of Pompano Beach Utility Service area and provide a pay stub (i.e. a $0.00 pay stub) or letter from their employer stating they are furloughed. For more information, please contact the City’s Utility Billing Department at 954-786-4637 to arrange for a deferral and subsequent payment plan.

In addition, the City has created the following summary of resources and related links to assist our impacted residents during this difficult time.
