Federal Gov Shutdown: Resident Resources
The City of Pompano Beach is aware of the potential impacts that the partial Federal Government Shutdown could have on our residents. The City Commission has authorized the following Utility Billing Program:
While the partial federal government shutdown is in effect, the City of Pompano Beach will defer water, wastewater, reuse water, stormwater, and garbage fees to Federal employees who request it. In addition, water will not be disconnected during the shutdown for these residents. Individual customers will be provided a 60 day grace-period once the furlough ends in order to bring their deferred balance current.
To qualify, federal employees must live in the City of Pompano Beach Utility Service area and provide a pay stub (i.e. a $0.00 pay stub) or letter from their employer stating they are furloughed. For more information, please contact the City’s Utility Billing Department at 954-786-4637 to arrange for a deferral and subsequent payment plan.
In addition, the City has created the following summary of resources and related links to assist our impacted residents during this difficult time.
