John Chakeres' exhibition, First Fleet, captures the sensational launch and landing operations of the four original space shuttles beginning with the initial launch of the Space Shuttle Columbia in 1981. This long-term photographic project, which covered a five-year time span, was sanctioned by NASA and portrays a unique time in the history of human spaceflight. The images on display are majestic and profound, offering the viewer a sense of what was required to fly such a complex piece of technology.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and come enjoy a featured presentation at the park under the stars on the fourth Friday of every month at Community Park. This is a free, family – friendly event.
