Mayor Lamar Fisher, Mayor at Large
Lamar Fisher is a fifth generation resident of Pompano Beach. His Great Grandfather actually signed the "Articles of Incorporation" for the City of Pompano Beach in 1908 and his Grandfather served as Mayor in 1943. He was first elected in 2002 as the Pompano Beach City Commissioner for District 3; ran unopposed in 2004 and 2006; ran unopposed for Mayor-At-Large in 2007 and 2010 and was successfully re-elected in 2013 for his third term as Mayor-At-Large. Lamar served for seven years on the Broward County Planning Council and during his service he completed a two year tenure as the Council's Chairman.
Mayor Fisher is the third generation of Fisher Auction Company which is headquartered in Pompano Beach and serves as its President/CEO. He has spent his entire career (over 30 years) working in all aspects of the real estate auction industry and building Fisher Auction Company which is now ranked in the top 10 of auction firms in the United States.
Civically, Mayor Fisher has held several offices in Kiwanis International including Past Distinguished President of the Kiwanis Club of Pompano Beach; Past Distinguished Lt. Governor of Division 23 of the Florida District; Past Distinguished Governor of the Florida District receiving multiple accomplishment awards. He is the founder of "K-Kids" which is now a world wide Kiwanis International sponsored youth program in the Elementary School system.
