5th Annual Light Up MLK For the Holidays

The 5th Annual Light Up MLK for the Holidays is scheduled for Saturday November 29th! The event is a free community event that takes place at Annie Adderly Gillis Park (601 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard) from 5-8pm with the official tree lighting at 7pm. Sounds of the holidays will ring throughout the park from 5-8pm and will include a variety of local community based performances by local church groups, mission groups and community members as the excitement builds to the lighting of the tree! Event attendees will enjoy complimentary food and non-alcoholic beverages plus a variety of interactive holiday festivities including sugar cookie decorating, holiday card & ornament making, interactive art projects and large bounce house style play areas for kids. Santa will make a special appearance in the City's and taking holiday gift wishes from kids of all ages!

Yuletide on Atlantic

Parade will feature eye dazzling floats, marching bands, dancers, fire clowns, and a variety of other amazing entertainment. After the Yuletide Parade join us in McNab Park for children’s activities, arts nd crafts, glitter tattoos, inflatable slides, and of course, Santa! Be sure to have your camera charged and ready for a picture opportunity with Santa Claus and other characters joining us in the park. Mayor Lamar Fisher will light the community Yuletide Tree to officially ring in the holiday season in Pompano Beach. Refreshments will be available in the park. East Village Uncorked is a free monthly art and wine celebration featuring specialty merchants, restaurants, and displays on planned improvements in the East CRA. Join us for entertainment and libations with music on the main stage. Hosted by the Pompano Beach Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA), EVU is held in Harbor Village located between the 2600-2800 blocks of East Atlantic Boulevard. Free parking is available to the public.

Craft for a Cause: Christmas Craft for Jack & Jill Children's Center

Jack & Jill Children’s Center helps to break the cycle of poverty for children of low-income, working families in Broward County through family-oriented child care services and family intervention and support. In keeping with our mission, we hold our families accountable by requiring them to work a minimum of 30 hours a week and pay a portion of their child’s tuition. Additionally, parents are required to attend the Parent Enrichment Program and other life-skill workshops.

Benjamin’s Boutique strives to bring the community together by Crafting for a Cause. Through crafting and community bonding we will be crafting Christmas Crafts for Jack & Jill Children’s Center. The craft will be donated along with an optional monetary donation. Join us, learn a new skill and help support a wonderful foundation!

Jazz & Arts Festival

The City of Pompano Beach Parks, Recreation & Cultural Arts Department is looking for art vendors to participate in the upcoming 5th annual Jazz and Arts Festival. Tables will be on sale, starting October 6, for this event, which will be held on Sunday, December 14th from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. at Pompano Community Park. Come out and enjoy the beautiful South Florida weather while listening to live jazz musicians and shopping for unique arts and crafts from local artists. In addition, this year’s event will also be featuring a wine tasting and a live sidewalk chalk exhibit. The Jazz and Arts Fest is a free event.

Please note for vendor tables, you may come to the Skolnick Community Center or the Emma Lou Olson Civic Center to select your table and register. However, you can register via mail as we can send you a registration form to complete and send back along with a check. Note if you register by mail, we will do our best to give you your requested table #. If we are unable, we will contact you with alternate options.
