Old Town Untapped PosterOld Town Untapped is a monthly craft beer and arts festival hosted by the Pompano Beach CRA and features free samples of local beers crafted by breweries in Pompano Beach's emerging craft beer scene. In addition the streets of Old Town are lined with food trucks, artists, crafters and interactive art. Inside Bailey Contemporary Arts, guests can grab some locally roasted coffee at Blooming Bean Coffee Roasters and walk through the galleries rotating art exhibits each month.

Opening Reception for Twenty Thousand Miles of Photographs for Tempor Exhibition PosterTwenty Thousand Miles of Photographs for Temporis an ongoing collaboration between Scott Cartwright, and his wife, Jenny Lynn Weitz Amaré-Cartwright. Covering subjects related to traveling and exploring North America, the exhibition features original film photography about history, politics, and immigration—inviting viewers to dive into a variety of fields and encouraging self-reflection and awareness about the environment.

Organized into three sections, Vanishing Point documents the creative duo’s trips through national parks and other sites of interest they toured in 2017 and 2018 while gathering content to produce "Tempor," a magazine that delves into issues of land politics of our past, and how they translate into our future.

Are you ready to slide into another splash-tacular Waterworks event?! Come join us on May 2nd From 11:00am-3:00pm at Mitchell Moore Park and Houston Sworn Pool. It will be the coolest place to be in this Florida heat with eight inflatable water slides, pool obstacles, an enchanted coral reef photo station with live mermaids, a kiddie mist pad, gigantic water balloon launcher and so much more! Enjoy some good eats and yummy treats. Don’t forget to stop by the City of Pompano Beach booth and sign up for the raffle giveaway. 

So come on out and enjoy some fun in the sun and make a splash at this bash!

Washi Paper Dyeing and Bookbinding Workshop PosterExplore a traditional Japanese paper (washi) dyeing technique with materials from the Awagami Factory in Tokushima, Japan. In this beginner-friendly experience, students will dye their own paper and create a custom Japanese Stab book. This class will be led by Shawna Moulton, an artist who has traveled to Japan to learn these techniques. All materials will be provided, dress in clothes you wouldn’t mind getting a little messy! This will be a fun and creative workshop for all.

South Florida Chamber Ensemble Series PosterThe Pied Pipers of Clean Water is a partnership with Water Aid USA and focuses on clean water and sanitation across the globe as well as on Water Aid’s Female Plumbers Program. The program includes The Moldau from Smetana’s Ma Vlast followed by music by female composers including: By the Still Waters by Amy Beach, Troubled Water by Margaret Bonds, Water Sprites by Cecile Chaminade and Rebecca Clarke’s To an Isle in the water. In addition, we are commissioning a new work by living American female composer Bethany Trainor to be paired with a new film from Water Aid about the Female Plumber’s Project. This work is scored for trio and an electronic running water effect that will play simultaneously with the music. In addition, we will host a photo exhibit of images from called Water for Empowerment based on Water Aid’s case studies.

Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and come enjoy a featured presentation at the park under the stars on the fourth Friday of every month at Community Park. This is a free, family – friendly event.
