June 1st kicked off hurricane season, are you prepared? Having a hurricane plan for your family and business is crucial for staying safe and reducing stress during a potentially chaotic situation. Getting organized now ensures everyone knows what to do, where to go (if evacuation is necessary), and how to communicate in the event of a weather emergency. A plan can minimize confusion and fear, especially for children, by establishing clear roles and expectations. Knowing you're prepared empowers your family and employees to face the storm together.

If you are new to South Florida, or need a hurricane prep refresher, we urge you to create your own personalized Family Disaster Plan. Creating your plan is easy and only takes about 10-15 minutes. Learn more at pompanobeachfl.gov/getready.

And if you have not signed up for the City’s emergency notification system, called Code RED, be sure to do so.
