Empower Yourself: Create a Safer Home, Business, and Community

If you want to know what to do during an emergency, then you need this class! The City’s Emergency Management team is hosting their FREE Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program starting Wednesday, February 12th. These classes, held from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Fire Rescue Training Center, are a fantastic opportunity for residents and business owners to learn valuable life-saving skills over an eight-week period. Over 1,000 people have already experienced the thrill of becoming CERT-certified, and you could be next!

CERT is a nationwide program developed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that empowers citizens to be prepared for any disaster. Through lectures and hands-on training, you'll learn how to identify potential hazards, extinguish small fires, conduct basic search and rescue operations, provide initial medical assistance, and make your home and workplace safer.
