Learn Life-Saving Skills
Ever wonder what you would do in a disaster scenario? Do you have the skills to help your family and neighbors? Now, you can empower yourself and protect your loved ones by taking the FREE Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training. Classes begin September 25, with hands-on training being taught by the Pompano Beach Fire Department.
From hurricanes to fires, terrorism to floods, we’ve all seen cities around the nation struck by disaster. The first few hours following a catastrophe are crucial and often times emergency services are overwhelmed. That's where you come in! Become part of the solution and help your community bounce back.
CERT training with the Pompano Beach Fire Department will include interactive hands-on training. There are no examinations required to successfully pass this program—your skills will be measured through practical exercises. Through the course, you will learn life-saving skills that will assist your family and our community during the first critical hours after a disaster. At the conclusion of the program, students will receive a certificate and become a member of the Pompano Beach Community Emergency Response Team. Participant enthusiasm continues through service with our many on-going volunteer opportunities.
