While June 7th was the last Old Town Untapped until October, Pompano Beach’s entertainment scene will sizzle all summer long. Check out our calendar of events for an array of activities including movie nights, concerts, art classes, exhibitions and so much more!

One of the most popular ways to beat the heat is the Dive in Movies Series which makes its first summer splash on June 21st at 8:00 p.m. at the Houston Sworn Pool with the animated film, Under the Boardwalk. This free family-friendly event is the perfect way to cool down as you dip in the water while watching the featured flick! Snacks and refreshments will be available. This month, one of the hottest festivals in the country is coming to our City! The 32nd Annual Southern Fried Poetry Slam will take place in Pompano June 12-15 at our various cultural hubs. The country’s most talented wordsmiths will be performing during this electrifying four-day event. Over 200 poets will be here to celebrate spoken word, performance poetry, and the power of community, all while competing for a chance to be crowned champion! Tickets are $25.00 for a festival pass, which includes the preliminary bouts and Final Stage. Workshop passes, which include four programs, are $15.00. For more information www.pompanobeacharts.org

And in celebration of Juneteenth, the 2023 musical version of The Color Purple will be shown for free during Moonlight Movie in the Park at Hunters Manor Park on June 22nd at 7:00 p.m. For more information https://parks.pompanobeachfl.gov/events/moonlight-movie-in-the-park.
