About the Park
Located within the NW CRA District, this park was originally dedicated in Annie Adderly Gillis’ memory on October 29th, 2011. For 10 years, it was a passive park and under-utilized. The CRA identified the need to enhance the space by creating an active, urban plaza. After receiving public input, budgeting for the project, and securing the architectural firm of Cartaya & Associates for the design elements and MBR Construction as the contractor, revitalization of the park was officially underway in December 2021. The project was completed in November 2022 with a CRA investment of $1,396,763. A plaque honoring Annie Adderly Gillis will be installed in 2023.
