Official Announcement: Pompano Beach ISO Class 1 Rating
The Insurance Service Organization (ISO) uses the Fire Suppression Rating System to measure the major elements of a community's fire-suppression systems and develops a numerical grading called a Public Protection Classification (PPC). The PPC rating represents the effectiveness of the fire protection in a community and most insurance companies use the PPC rating to determine the fire insurance rates for commercial and residential properties within a community. ISO rates fire departments with a PPC of 1 to 10 and those fire departments that best meet the standards of ISO receive a PPC of 1. Communities with a PPC rating of 1 are afforded the lowest fire insurance rates.
It is my distinct pleasure to inform you that Pompano Beach Fire Rescue has been notified by the Insurance Service Office, Inc. (ISO) that, effective August 1, 2017, The City of Pompano Beach has been awarded a Public Protection Classification of 01. As a resident or business owner in Pompano Beach, you should contact your insurance company, as this new rating may afford you a reduction in your fire insurance rates.
