Holiday Garbage Pickup and Tree Disposal
- In observance of Christmas Day, there will be no trash/bulk/recycling pick up on December 25th. Pick up will resume on your next scheduled day.
- Starting December 20th 2024, you can bring your undecorated trees to 2290 NE 5th Avenue, south of Copans Road (adjacent to the Air Park). The drop-off location is available 24/7, so you can swing by at your convenience until January 13th 2025. Your trees will be processed to create mulch, contributing to a greener environment. If you live in a house, remember that you can also place your tree out for removal on your bulk trash day.
- During the week of December 26th through January 2nd, additional household waste and recyclables may be placed next to your grey garbage cart for removal. Please place these additional materials into large plastic bags and/or personal garbage cans. *This is only for household waste and recyclables – not bulk items. Normal collection will resume on January 2nd.*
Environmental Services
The Environmental Services Department oversees the collection and processing of garbage and recycling for Pompano Beach residents and businesses. Maintaining clean streets, parks, community centers and beaches is of great importance to the tourism industry, commercial growth and the quality of life enjoyed by our citizens. Helping residents practice good environmental stewardship, this department hosts bi-annual household hazardous waste collection events -- allowing for safe disposal of toxic items that should never be sent to the landfill. Environmental Services is further responsible for supporting many public events throughout the year and is always prepared to return the city to normalcy following weather emergencies or catastrophic occurrences.
