City of Pompano Beach Receives 13th Consecutive Clean Audit Report With No Audit Findings, Marking Over a Decade of Financial Excellence
The City of Pompano Beach is proud to announce that it has once again received a clean audit opinion (unmodified opinion) with no findings from an independent external auditor for the audit of its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR). An unmodified opinion is the highest level of assurance that can be provided that the City’s financial statements are free of material misstatements and present a fair view of the City’s financial records. The City’s financial records and accounts are reported in the ACFR. The ACFR is an important tool in providing an accurate and transparent look into the financial health of the City. Rating agencies, investors and grantor agencies rely significantly on the ACFR and the opinion of the auditors. The auditor is also required to audit any federal and state grant funds received by the City in accordance with audit procedures and the City once again has no findings related to its expenditure of grant funds. This marks the 13th consecutive year the City has achieved this prestigious milestone, reinforcing its commitment to transparency, accountability, good checks and balances, fiscal stewardship and compliance with rules and regulations reviewed by the auditor.
“This achievement is a testament to the City’s strong leadership, sound financial management, and the dedicated work of our Finance Department,” said Mayor Rex Hardin. “We are proud to maintain this exceptional record of financial integrity and public trust.”
Maintaining such a long-standing record of clean audits is a significant accomplishment among municipalities and sets Pompano Beach apart. It reflects Pompano Beach’s commitment to being good stewards of public funds, helping to build community confidence while supporting long-term economic sustainability and stability.
