City to Host Town Hall Meeting for Youth and Families

The City of Pompano Beach, United Way of Broward County’s Commission on Behavioral Health and Drug Prevention, and the School Board of Broward County have joined together to host the fifth annual Pompano Beach Town Hall Meeting for Youth and Families. The Town Hall Meeting is themed “Celebrate the Positive in our Community…Youth Making Healthy Choices”.
The Town Hall Meeting will take place on Thursday, February 22nd at the E. Pat Larkins Community Center located at 520 MLK, Jr. Boulevard from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for community resource information at vendor tables. The Town Hall panel discussion begins at 6:30 p.m.
A panel of mental wellness experts, a panel of youth sharing their experiences, and community members will discuss various topics from substance use, positive coping skills for managing stress and anxiety, healthy choices, etc.
The event is free and open to the public. Students, parents, grandparents, teachers, and school administrators are all welcome. The School Board will be providing translation services for the English presentation in Spanish, Creole and Portuguese.
There will be light refreshments, prize drawings, and community resource information stations.
