Ocean Rescue Headquarters Ribbon Cutting | Another G.O. Pompano! Project Completed
50 N. Pompano Beach Boulevard
Wednesday, May 15th
10:00 am
City officials will be cutting the ceremonial ribbon on the latest GO Bond project to be completed. The brand-new Ocean Rescue Headquarters ribbon cutting will be on Wednesday, May 15th, at 10:00 a.m. The building is located at 50 N. Pompano Beach Boulevard.
This G.O. Bond project was part of a multi-phase initiative. The first phase resulted in designing, assembling, and installing eight lifeguard stations. The second and third phases were to complete the design and construction of the Ocean Rescue Building itself.
The 2,815 square foot ground floor of the original Ocean Rescue Headquarters was gutted to give way to a better floor plan. This plan was not just a product of the design team's expertise but also a result of the valuable input from our dedicated Ocean Rescue staff. Their involvement in the project ensured that the new floor plan met their operational needs, making their work more efficient and effective.
The ground floor design includes new and improved ‘locker room areas, showers, a new, modernized lobby area, two offices, a multi-purpose room, and exterior stairs at the east and north sides of the building. The second floor features a large meeting room with a conference room table and chairs with floor-to-ceiling windows facing the ocean.
About G.O. Pompano!
In 2018, voters overwhelmingly approved the “G.O. Pompano!” bond initiative to secure $181 million in funding for various community projects. This initiative has significantly improved our local infrastructure, public safety, and quality of life. The voter-approved funding has allowed the City to upgrade local roads, bridges, and public safety facilities like police and fire stations and transform old parks and playgrounds into modern and inviting community spaces. The completion of the Ocean Rescue Headquarters is a testament to the success of this initiative and its positive impact on our community.
