Pompano Beach Fire Department Awarded International Accredited Status
Pompano Beach Fire Rescue has received Accredited Agency status with the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) for meeting the criteria established through the CFAI’s voluntary self-assessment and accreditation program. Agencies become accredited after peer review of their accreditation documents, completion of an onsite assessment, and participation in a public hearing before the Commission on Fire Accreditation International. Accreditation is valid for five years. Of the 40,000 fire agencies in the United States, Pompano Beach Fire Rescue is one of 77 agencies that have a CFAI Accreditation and an ISO Class 1 Rating. The Fire Department first received this prestigious status in 2019. Accreditation is valid for five years.
CFAI is dedicated to assisting fire and emergency service agencies worldwide in achieving excellence through self-assessment and accreditation to provide continuous quality improvement and enhance service delivery to their communities. The CFAI process is voluntary and provides an agency with an improvement model to assess its service delivery and internal performance. It then works with a team of peers from other agencies to evaluate the completed self-assessment.
“We are incredibly proud to receive the prestigious Accredited Agency status,” said Mayor Rex Hardin. “This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our Fire Department. It reflects our ongoing efforts to provide the highest standard of service and safety to our community”.
